The phrase "a flawed design" comes from the episode itself, cropping up in this little exchange:
Warren: What the hell is that?
(Andrew is painting a mural on the side of their stealth van)
Andrew: Death Star, dude! Wicked, huh?
Jonathan: Thermal exhaust port's above the main port, numbnuts.
Andrew: For your information I'm using the Empire's revised designs from Return of the Jedi.
Jonathan: That's a flawed design!
I thought it summed up the episode rather nicely, as a reference to both the trio's flawed plans for taking on Buffy, and Buffy's flawed plans for what to do with her life.
